This program was written by Don Brown of CE Software. It is a combination INIT and cdev and is installed by dragging it into your System folder and restarting your computer. Various options can be set via the Control Panel.
It should be noted that Vaccine should have a leading space before its name (i.e.
ΓÇ£ VaccineΓÇ¥) so it will be the first INIT to execute. It is my recommendation that the option ΓÇ£Expert DisplayΓÇ¥ should be left off. This ensures that the user will not miss the notification of a possible infection.
Unfortunately Vaccine is becoming dated. The INITΓÇô29 Virus will be allowed to infect if the ΓÇ£Always compile MPW INITΓÇ¥ option is selected, also the WDEF and ZUC Viruses are not blocked.

Vaccine operates by automatically trapping attempts to write executable resources to any file on your computer. It will respond to any such attempt by displaying a dialog showing the resource type which is being added and the file to which it is being added. The user may either prevent or allow this access. To see an example of the dialog use the ΓÇ£Show Vaccine DialogΓÇ¥ button above.
Unfortunately, Vaccine sometimes prevents viral infection by crashing the computer!
